Dictionary and Input Tool help to develop Search Engine user royalty

China is such an unique market for search engines. Search Engines in China should alway be very creative and learn how to please the users in even tiny behavior segment.

If you happen to know some chinese and know how to input chinese characters, you must have known the input method story between Google China and Sohu. They had a battle on online input method for chinese market.

They both said that their input words phrase suggetion came from the frequency of keywords in their search engine. Which means the massive behavior of massive search engine users are helpping the improvement of chinese input suggestion.

That’s another way to find the hot words. Even a good way to build the royalty of users.

Now the war extend to online translation. Kingsoft was the first one to have online translation app, Netease luanched their own one based on search engine keyword frequency and what their crawler match online. Yahoo and Google jumpped into this war too.

Dictionary follows the Input Tool to be one attractive point for internet users.

Again, as I had mentioned several times before. In China, the most important thing is not about how many people are using a specific search engine. The key point is where people start their search or how they come to the search engine.

Hugh population of internet user only type in key words in the box of their IM, or the portal they read everyday.

What’s Search Expo?
That was a good question.

From Howv network to Timev Tech, we had been working and researching on two things:
1. How to help the China companies go international thought Internet?
2. How to help oversea companies get into China?

That is where all my passion come from. International trade really make the dream come ture, and the search engine makes it fast then we can image.

China and Chinese had became the global business sources and destination. I noticed that there are two very interesting demanding groups:
1. China Companies want to go international via internet for their brand awareness and business leads.
2. Companies from outside of China want to market their brand and business in China via Internet.

Search Expo can serve this two groups very well. We are  a bilingual event with chinese and english content about search engine marketing. We want to extend our tour in Asia. We create a Global Network for SEO/SEM knowledge.

Tom Online, Ebay China, Paypal China and rumors

Tom Online is going to merge all the business of Ebay China, including Paypal China.

Does this mean that Ebay failed in the competition with Alibaba’s Taobao and Alipay? Maybe!

But the central government is going to carefully control the online payment in China. The licience is needed in the coming month for Paypal China.

Maybe Tom Online can get one of the licience, but for sure Ebay China is hard to get it.

Yes the competition with Alibaba and the Online Payment Licience may be the two main reason for this rumor. And most of the time, rumor come true.

Yes, They came back as what they promised.

This early morning, I rechecked those 3 chinese Search Engines, Sina’s Iask, Sohu’s Sogou, Search of China.com. They all came back.

I did some queries at some products keyword and World Cup 2006. The result were perfect, lots of informations as usual. Even those urls for gambling information site were there and the link at the search engine was live.

Yes, business is business. They did what they said. And they back to the right business track for Search Engines.

Although search engines are always regarded as an reliable information center. I like the search to serve us at our daily life, business or study, entertainment or sports.

Just dont be Evil!

This monday, Timev got its third exclusive national dealership, which is also regarded as national exclusive operatorship.

This is all about paid search, the deal is between Timev and 21CN. This deal covers banner and top 10 ranking at 21CN’s search result.

21CN Logo
21CN.com is a stated-own company, belongs to China Telecom Group. 21CN claimed to be the largest broadband resources protal in china. They provide the widest selection of online videos and musics. So they are also regarded as a entertainment portal in china.

21CN.com launched at 1999, and located at Guzhou city, Guangdong province, which is the earliest and fastest developing area in China. Active economy, masssive internet user and great support from the China Telecom Group. Nearly one third of chinese internet users registered at 21CN as their online video members.

21CN has a search bar at its homepage, but their search, as what I had said at earlier post, is powered by Baidu.

There are normally many types of ADs at for the search result in such a portal like 21CN. Not matter sina or sohu before, their search result are far more than PPC, more colorful and graphic than Google and Yahoo. Most of the advertisers believe that the most inpressive AD is Banner at search result relevent to keyword.
